Peer Pressure Drill: 145 in 4

I recent acquired this drill from University of Tennessee women’s assistant coach, Dean Lockwood. I love starting off every practice with a series of peer pressure drills. The goal of this drill is to make 145 lay-ups in 4 minutes.

Four players start with a ball under each rim and two at half-court. As soon as the ball goes through the net (or is missed), the player(s) standing out-of-bounds rebound the ball and push it the other way. You can allow your players to make straight line drives or require them to dribble wider (as pictured below).

Once the team accomplishes the goal of 145 makes in the 4 minutes, switch sides to work on the other hand.
